Washington requires homeschooling families to submit annual reports. There are state required subjects. Washington policy for homeschool assessment is as follows: Annual assessment or evaluation with no ramifications

Very few states have laws that prevent parents from homeschooling their children. Washington does not prohibit parents from homeschooling based on their legal or criminal history. Only two states, Pennsylvania and Arkansas, prohibit some parents based on their criminal history or by someone living in the home.

To homeschool in Washington, parents must satisfy a minimum level of education: Must meet one of four requirements: 1) Supervised by a “certified” person. 2) Achieved a minimum number of college credits. 3) Taken a course in home-based instruction. 4) Deemed qualified by local school board

Washington schools aligned their curriculum to the Common Core at the start of the 2013–14 school year, and the state is installing the computers necessary to fully implement SBAC assessments next year.

Homeschoolers must participate in annual state-mandated testing. However, the results are not sent in to the district superintendent.
