Gutenberg Now Has Easier Searching Tool
Have you been to gutenberg.org to browse around lately?
They have done some work to the site, including vamping up their search tool and adding some social media options.
Now you can search by keyword, subject, and a variety of other methods. You can also click on the author’s name of a book on the “Bibrec” tab of the ebook landing page. This gives you a handy list of all the books available by that particular author.
This is especially handy for finding series of books, such as history stories.
You can also click the social media icons in the top right corner of the search page and it will take you to a list of your last viewed books – with options to share them on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
I find these new additions very helpful for finding books to share with you, and sharing books with my friends!
For the longest time, they had bookshelves that were hard to navigate and it seemed like they didn’t list all the books that I knew were on the site. Now with just a few keyword searches, I have a list in front of me (with cover art) of all the related books.
There are thousands of good quality books on gutenberg.org that are useful to homeschoolers and educators everywhere. And I will continue to share them here! But the next time you click on a link to get a book over there, try digging around a bit. You might find even more books that I haven’t stumbled upon yet.
