A Selection of Science Readers

Old science readers can be fun to read and look at. They are not usually up to date on many topics, but with careful research and supplementation they can make a fine addition to a study of science.

One way we use public domain science readers is by looking at their illustrations and discussing how methods and information has changed since the book was written.

Listed here are just a few of the most recent science readers I have bookmarked.

How It Works

In order to include steam, electricity, optics, hydraulics, thermics, light, and a variety of detached mechanisms which cannot be classified under any one of these heads, within the compass of about 450 pages, I have to be content with a comparatively brief treatment of each subject.
